Cricket is a long game with no shade and sunglasses for cricket need to fully protect the eyes from UV light. This is why wraparound styles are the most common choice for cricketers. The increased peripheral vision afforded by wraparound styles also improves the ability to accurately judge a ball in flight.
Cricket sunglasses also need to be tough. Cricket balls are hard and move very fast. If you're unlucky enough to be unexpectedly on the receiving end you need sunglasses which will withstand the impact. Rudy Project have recently introduced a breakthrough in lens technology - the ImpactX lens -which is actually bullet proof and is guaranteed unbreakable! (Apache helicopter windshields are made of this stuff!) So if you do get a ball in the face, your nose might break but your lenses won't!
As for tints, because light can vary so much through the course of a days play, we have included products which come with interchangeable lenses in our selection. Yellow and Amber tints suit low light. Greys, browns and mirrored lenses suit bright conditions. Orange tints are contrast enhancing and good for moderate to low light conditions.
