Prescription Sports Sunglasses, Prescription Glazing, Prescription Glazing for Direct In frame Models

Sport Spex is now able to offer a glazing service which means that once we have your full prescription details we can put prescription lenses directly into the sunglass frames for you. Please contact us either via email or phone to discuss your prescription details. We want to get your prescription spot on so we prefer to talk to you rather than just give you a lot of boxes to fill in! We have our own Consultant Optometrist at our fingertips and access to excellent technical expertise.

Please note that we use Polycarbonate lenses for all our 'direct in frame' glazing. These may not be the cheapest lenses but Polycarbonate has superb impact resistant properties which we feel is an essential safety feature in sports eyewear.

The curvature of the lenses (wrap) in some sports styles tend to create some distortion in higher prescription powers (usually spherical above -4.00 and cylindrical above -1.00). Whilst this can usually be overcome by gradually building up wear time to become accustomed to the slight distortion, some people are very sensitive to it and find that they never adapt. Wrap frames can be glazed at your own risk with most prescriptions but they are not refundable if too much distortion is created by your prescription with the curvature. For direct in frame glazing we can glaze prescription lenses in most colours (including anti-reflective and mirror coated lenses). Glazing with Polarised or Photochromic lenses is also available. The choice of lens colours and coatings is huge and we have just selected the most popular ones. If there is something you require in your lenses which we have not covered just get in touch - anything is possible! Once you have chosen the sunglasses you would like please add the relevant glazing details shown below to your basket and proceed to the checkout. You can contact us at any time either before or after you place your order to discuss your prescription. If you place your order first this will not be processed until we have discussed your prescription with you.
